Mechanical Characteristics and Classification of Starter

The starter is also called a motor, which converts the electrical energy of the battery into mechanical energy, and drives the engine flywheel to rotate to achieve the start of the engine. Starters are divided into DC electric starters, gasoline starters, compressed air starters and so on according to the working principle. It is an important part of agricultural machinery tools.
The P11C engine deceleration starter has the following significant features:
① The power output structure is divided into two parts: armature shaft and transmission shaft. Both ends of the armature shaft are supported by ball bearings. The load distribution is uniform, the use time is long, it is not easy to wear. The armature is short, and it is not easy for the armature shaft to bend and wear out the magnetic field winding.
② A reduction gear is used. A reduction gear is installed between the rotor and the starting gear, and the torque transmitted by the starting motor to the starting gear will increase. By using an electromagnetic switch, the power output of the bearing motor (after the reduction gear) is a starting gear and a starting gear shaft, and the mesher part does not move. Starters with small output power often use external meshing, and starters with large output power use internal meshing.
③ The deceleration starter is operated by an electromagnetic switch, and some are equipped with auxiliary switches (or auxiliary switches). Its role is to prevent burning out of the electromagnetic switch and the switch (start) switch. The power is connected in stages, which greatly reduces the possibility of damage to the starter, thereby extending the life of the starter.
④ The volume and weight of the deceleration starter is about half that of the traditional starter, which saves raw materials and is easy to disassemble and repair.
⑤ The number of pairs of magnetic poles of a deceleration starter is the same as that of a traditional starter, but the magnetic field coil winding often uses a small wire and a plurality of serial methods. Although the armature winding method is the same as the traditional principle, the manufacturing process is advanced.
Classification of starter
Reducer starter
A reduction starter is a starter equipped with a gear reducer between the armature shaft of the starter and the drive gear. There are three different types of gear reducers for reduction starters: external meshing, internal meshing and planetary gearing. The first type is used on a low-power starter; an internal-meshing reduction starter has a small transmission center distance of the reduction mechanism and can have a large reduction ratio, so it is suitable for a high-power starter. The reduction mechanism of the planetary gear reduction starter is compact.
Permanent magnet starter
A starter that uses permanent magnetic material as a magnetic pole is called a permanent magnet starter. It eliminates the excitation winding and magnetic pole core in the traditional starter, simplifies the structure of the starter, greatly reduces the volume and quality, improves reliability, and saves metal materials.
Permanent magnet deceleration starter
The permanent magnet reduction starter uses a high speed, low torque permanent magnet motor, and a gear reduction is installed between the driving gear and the armature shaft. The volume and mass of the permanent magnet deceleration starter can be further reduced, and it has been widely used at present.
In summary, we know the starter from its institutional characteristics and classification, which will help us better purchase motors and agricultural appliances.
