The high failure rate of high-horsepower tractors is notoriously high. According to the market research of the Agricultural Machinery Guide, the failure rate of high-horsepower tractors in 2018 was as high as about 261%. In the first half of 2019, the failure rate of high horsepower tractors was about 117%, while the failure rate of medium horsepower tractors in the same period was lower. The failure rate of medium horsepower tractors in 2018 was as high as about 141%. In the first half of 2019, the failure rate of mid-horsepower tractors was about 73%. In 2018, the failure rate of high-horsepower tractors is 1.85 times that of medium-horsepower tractors; In the first half of 2019, the failure rate of high horsepower tractors is 1.61 times the failure rate of medium horsepower tractors. Why is the failure rate of high horsepower tractors in use so high?

The high failure rate of high-horsepower tractors is caused by the quality problems of the tractor itself, such as the large horse-drawn carts that are popular now; second, the poor operating environment and concentrated operation time; third, the annual operating time of high-horsepower tractors greatly exceeds the medium-horsepower horsepower tractors.  Fourth, it is caused by improper use, operation and maintenance by the user; fifth, it is caused by the problem of improper equipment matching. When the high-horsepower tractor with a small chassis is performing heavy-load traction, it is prone to various types of failures.

tractors' technical upgrades

Today's tractors are indeed a bit less durable than before. Because of national subsidy quotas and subsidy models, tractor manufacturers have developed matching tractor engine horsepower on the basis of the old chassis in order to obtain maximum profit. A series of small chassis-shaped high-horsepower tractors, which is now our popular "big horse-drawn cart" phenomenon. For example, the chassis originally designed for a 40-horsepower tractor used to be equipped with a maximum of 45-horsepower and 50-horsepower, but now the tractor engines have been equipped with 80-horsepower, 90-horsepower, or even 100-horsepower. Such a large horse-drawn cart-type tractor is prone to failures during long-term heavy-load traction operations, such as clutch burnout, gear toothing, power output shaft break, half shaft break, no lifting, weak lifting, the cracking of the gear box, etc., even if there is no damage now, is only temporary, with the increase of use time, the damage is inevitable.

In fact, the sales of these kinds of tractors have seriously disrupted the market, seriously hindered the development of tractors' technical upgrades, and greatly increased the failure rate of tractors. Today's high-power tractors are pursuing cost-performance first, and quality has retreated to a secondary position. In recent years, perhaps tractors will be less durable and their durability will be worse. The current tractor companies are pursuing benefits and are also under pressure. Many manufactures of large-horsepower tractors of small type, such as three domestic brands Lovol, Dongfanghong, and Dongfeng have also joined this army. I am afraid that the high horsepower tractor will be less durable and the durability will be worse.
