Non-disassembly Diagnosis Methods of Tractor Faults

Non-disassembly diagnosis means that the technical state or fault of the tractor can be judged without disassembly. This method can avoid the waste of manpower, material resources and time, and also avoid the damage of machine parts caused by disassembly. Now the non-disassembly diagnostic method is described as follows.

 

1. Changes of temperature and smoke color

Tractor failure often causes changes in temperature, smoke color or smell, so these changes in the work of each part can be used as a means of inspection to prove that a part is indeed faulty.

 

(1) If a cylinder does not work, the temperature of the cylinder head and part of the cylinder body must be too low; If a spindle tile is burnt out, the temperature of the main shaft in the nearby engine body must be too high, and the engine body will heat up and make the oil evaporate. If the tractor brake skid, the brake hub must be hot, and there is a smell and smoke out.

(2) If the tractor flue gas changes with thick black smoke, it is because the load is too heavy, the oil supply is too large, and the oil injection quality is poor. If it is blue smoke, it is due to the oil burning. If it is gray smoke, it is because the body temperature is too low or there is water in the oil or other reasons.

 

(3) Check the peculiar smell. When tractor parts burn, such as friction plate, brake belt, transmission belt, insulating paint or oil, there will be a corresponding smell spilled out, from which we can analyze the fault parts.

 

2. Observation method

To judge the faults of the machine by observing the abnormal phenomena, such as tractor water leakage, oil leakage, gas leakage and electricity leakage, abnormal oil temperature, oil pressure and water temperature, etc.

3. Cylinder breaking method

Stop oil supply or ignition of the tractor engine cylinder in turn, then observe the change of fault signs to determine which cylinder has failed.

 

4. Heuristics method

In the process of fault analysis, sometimes the cause of some faults cannot be accurately judged. Some exploratory inspection and adjustment methods are adopted to observe the changes of fault signs to verify whether the doubt is true. For example, if you suspect cylinder liner and piston leakage resulting in tractor starting obstacle, pour some oil into the cylinder to enhance its tightness. If the engine is on fire again, it means that the cylinder liner and piston are indeed leaking air.

 

5. Change parts

In the analysis of tractor engine faults, if a part is being suspected, it can be replaced by a spare part in good technical condition. According to the changes of signs before and after the replacement, it can be determined whether the technical condition of the original part is normal.

6. Index evaluation method

Analyze and judge the wear degree of machine parts by the change rules of related indexes. For example, based on the ratio of engine oil consumption to main fuel consumption, the wear degree of cylinder liner piston group can be calculated. The wear degree of crankshaft bearings can be calculated according to the drop value of oil pressure in main oil passage of engine.

7. Screening method

If some fault causes are inconvenient or difficult to check, we will not  check them directly, but to find out the real cause by successively checking and screening out other fault factors.

 

8. Auscultation method

When the abnormal noise from tractor or engine is unknown, we can use the stethoscope or screwdriver auscultation to find out the cause of the problems by comparing each cylinder differences or different parts of the sound changes repeatedly according to the tractor engine internal parts and cooperating relationship.

 

9. The testing method

Analyze and judge faults and technical status by measuring instrument and tractor oil pressure gauge. For example, the power, speed, pressure, temperature and flow rate of an engine can be measured by instruments.

 

10. Comparative method

When it is determined that a cylinder is not working normally, it is possible to remove a faulty and a fault-free cylinder high-pressure oil pipe joint on the fuel injection pump, and then press the accelerator, press the start button, compare the height of the diesel oil column in the two oil pipe joints of the fuel injection pump. If the height of the faulted cylinder is consistent with that of the faultless cylinder, it indicates that the fault is caused by the injector or the poor sealing of the cylinder; On the contrary, the fault is in the fuel injection pump.
