New Holland is a long-established brand of farm machinery dating back to the 19th century. The company was founded in 1895 by Abe Zimmerman in New Holland, Pennsylvania, which is the origin of the name New Holland. Initially, the company made feed mills and other agricultural equipment, but in the 1940s it began to focus on tractors.

In 1903, Zimmerman founded the New Holland Machinery Company to produce agricultural equipment and promote local agriculture.

In 1906, Belgian machinist Leon Claeys began producing threshers and built a plant in Zedelgem.

In 1940, the first automatic baling machine was introduced in New Holland, which was a major breakthrough in the field of forage harvesting.

In 1947, the company was acquired by the Sperry Group and renamed “Sperry New Holland”. That same year, New Holland introduced the Model 77 baler, which revolutionized hay and forage harvesting. Subsequently, the company continued to innovate and expand its product line, introducing the first self-propelled combine harvester in 1952.

In 1964, Sperry Rand acquired a majority stake in Claeys.

In 1974 Sperry New Holland launched the world's first biaxial flow drum Twin-Rotor combine harvester, a fantastic idea that still leads the industry today.

In 1986, Ford acquired Sperry New Holland and formed Ford New Holland Inc.

In 1988, Fiat consolidated its agricultural and construction equipmentbusinesses under Fiat Geotech. FiatAgri became the company's agricultural equipment brand.

In 1991, New Holland was acquired by the Italian company Fiat, which later merged with the French company CNH Global to form CNH Industrial.

In 1994, the company changed its name to New Holland after completing the entire process of merging Ford New Holland and Fiat Geotech.

In 1999, Fiat Group acquired Case Corporation and combined it with New Holland N.V. The merger created CNH Global, a global leader in farm machinery and construction equipment.

In 2011, New Holland celebrated the 50th anniversary of Zedelgem's self-propelled Forage Harvester division, which combines excellence and innovation, and released the FR9000 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Harvester.

In 2017, New Holland expanded its products and services with a new range of equipment products following the acquisition by CNH Industrial of Kongskilde Industries' agricultural turf and soil equipment brand.

Now New Holland has successfully achieved its demerger goal, becoming a listed company specialising in agricultural machinery and construction machinery. More accurate positioning, through the continuous improvement of proprietary knowledge and capabilities, to provide users with a full range of products and support.
