Fendt Tractor - Experience the Excellence

Fendt is a German agricultural machinery manufacturer founded in 1930 by Xaver Fendt in Marktoberdorf, Allgäu region, Germany. Fendt manufactures tractors, combine harvesters, balers, telescopic handlers and row crop planters. It was purchased by AGCO Corporation in 1997.

Born in 1868, Johann Georg Fendt inherited his father's business in 1898, began selling and servicing Deutz stationary engines, and in 1928 branched out into agricultural utility machines by building a motorized grass mower.

The first 4.5 kW (6 hp) Dieselross tractor was built in 1930 by the brothers Hermann and Xaver Fendt under the guidance of their father Johann Georg Fendt.

In 1937, the company became incorporated in the commercial register. In 1938, the Fendt brothers built the Dieselross F 22 with up to 16 kW (22 hp), followed by the Dieselross series until 1958, building the company's reputation over time.

In the 1950s, Fendt introduced the Geräteträger, a versatile machine that could be used for a range of tasks, including plowing, mowing, and harvesting. This machine helped to establish Fendt as a leader in the agricultural machinery industry.

In the 1960s, Fendt introduced the Farmer series of tractors, which were designed to be more comfortable and efficient than previous models. These tractors were equipped with a range of features, including power steering, hydraulic systems, and comfortable cabs.

In the 1970s, Fendt continued to innovate with the introduction of the Favorit series of tractors. These tractors were designed to be more powerful and efficient than previous models, and they quickly became popular with farmers around the world.

In the 1980s, Fendt introduced the Vario transmission, which allowed for seamless shifting between gears. This innovation helped to establish Fendt as a leader in the field of agricultural machinery.

Since 1997, Fendt has operated as wholly owned brand of AGCO Corporation and its agricultural equipment reaches a global market.

Fendt was the market leader by ownership in Germany with a share of 24.2% in 2018.

As of 2022 Fendt showcases a product range that includes tractors, forage harvesters, combine harvesters, self-propelled sprayers, hay tools, row-crop planters, front end tractor loaders, and telescoping material handlers.
