Diagnosis and removal of sound fault on the Rear axle

The tractor may have many faults like tractor engine fault, tractor chassis fault, oil pressure fault, oil pressure sensor fault. Today, we will talk about the sound fault on the rear axle. The parts and cases from the taper gear in the second shaft of the gearbox to driving are called wheel rear axle. The rear axle of wheeled tractor is composed of central drive, differential, final drive and half shaft. It can distribute the power from the gearbox which has been decreased speed and increased moment, and changed the direction of transmission to the left and right driving wheels. So it can make the tractor move and allow the left and right drive wheel to rotate at different speeds. Rear axle gear has been matched and adjusted well, it is no need to tear down and adjust it. When the gear and bearing has abnormal sound due to the damage of correct gear meshing position by wear and other reasons, it needs to have a check or adjust and then change the parts.

 

 

1. Abnormal sound by loose screws

Like the heavy tractor engine noise, it may be caused by loose screws. When the two screws holding the push washer are loose of right rear wheel , the push washer moves to the left, so the right moving gear hub will move to the left. There will be a distance between the right moving gear hub and inner ring of the right rear axle ball bearing. When the tractor's right rear wheel moves the low-lying road, the right half slides to the right and it contacts with the end face of inner ring of the right rear axle ball bearing, and causes the abnormal sound.

 

According to this situation, the small locking plate under the two screws should be replaced by new product and be screwed, locked tightly. Then. The abnormal sound disappears.

 

 

2. Abnormal sound by incorrect assembling of central drive gear pair

Though the tractor has many tractor engine types, such as john deer tractor engine, ford tractor engine, mahindra tractor engine, kubota tractor engine, the steps are the same. We should open the central drive gear pair and have the following check.

1. Check the end runout of cone hub and cone gear ring. The maximum can not be beyond 0.18mm.

2. Check assembling of planetary gear and shaft and thrust gasket

3. Check the wear condition of differential half shaft gear

4. Check the amount of different gaskets

5. Check the wear condition of washer and bearing

 

3. Abnormal sound by over gear clearance

When the tractor has the abnormal sound, the driver should stop the car and get off the car then have a careful check. Firstly, we should remove the rear axle cover and pluck the gear with a little crowbar to check the gear clearance. If the gear clearance is too large, it should be adjusted and removed. Besides, if you hear a more random crash sound, it means that the total clearance of each part is too large and it should be adjusted.
