Common Failures and Maintenance Methods of Harvesters

Every time the rice is harvested, how to ensure that the combine harvester has an optimal harvesting state is the most important thing for agriculture machine operators. The harvester has a complicated structure, and no matter which tractor working system has problems during the operation, it will be delayed and lost time, and it will cause food waste. Therefore, in addition to testing, repairing and maintaining harvesting machinery as early as possible. It is also necessary to master the troubleshooting techniques in actual operation, so as to effectively improve the economic benefits of the harvester.

Cutter Blade Damaged

The main reason for the cutter blade damage is that the cutter encounters hard objects such as stones and tree roots during the cutting process, or the blade protector is loose or deformed, which makes the height of the fixed blade inconsistent. It may also be because the blade rivets are loose so that the blades collide with each other. To prevent damage to the blade, it should be careful enough to avoid obstacles in front of the cutter during operation. When maintaining the combine harvester, pay attention to the correct installation of the cutter.

Shank Broken

The reason for the broken cutter bar is that, in addition to the excessive resistance of the cutter, the installation position of the cutter drive mechanism is incorrect. In order to prevent the cutter bar from breaking, the cutter should be adjusted correctly to reduce the resistance of the cutter movement, and at the same time adjust the installation position of the cutter drive mechanism to meet the assembly requirements.

Pusher Slips

The main reason for the slip of the pusher is that the gap between the screw blade of the pusher and the bottom plate of the header is too large. In order to prevent the occurrence of this fault, the gap between the spiral blade and the header board should be adjusted properly according to the different conditions of the crop, such as the density and height of the crop. When harvesting low crops, the gap can be adjusted to about 10 mm. When the edge of the spiral blade is polished, a key knife can be used to make small teeth on the edge of the blade to restore and increase the pushing capacity.

Drum Clogged

There are many reasons for the blockage of the roller, including too small gap of the roller, insufficient engine horsepower, insufficient speed of the roller due to the slippage of the transmission belt, poor stalk discharge because of insufficient rotation of the pick wheel and pick device, too wet and too dense crop, tough weed, and the fast speed of the harvester. In order to prevent the roller from clogging, the gap between the roller and the concave plate should be increased appropriately when harvesting the wet grassy crop. When the sound of the drum speed decreasing is heard, the locomotive's forward speed should be reduced or temporarily stopped to adjust the tightness of the transmission belt. The rotation speed of the drum and the clearance of the wooden bearing of the picker should be adjusted correctly.

Chain Break

There are also many reasons for chain breakage, including the fact that the sprockets in the transmission circuit are not in the same rotation plane, the drive shaft is bent, the chain continues to be used after severe wear, the chain is not tight enough, and the sprocket wear exceeds the allowable limit, all of which will cause the chain to fall off, break, and disengage. In order to prevent this failure, the sprockets in the same transmission circuit must be in the same rotation plane. Always check the wear of the chain and repair and replace it in time. Always check the condition of the cotter pin of the chain joint and replace it if necessary. Straighten the curved transmission shaft so that the sprocket does not exceed the allowable swing when rotating. Correctly adjust the tightness of the chain. Timely repair and replace sprockets that exceed the wear limit, and adjust the safety clutch correctly.

By understanding the above common faults and maintenance methods, the harvester can be used more smoothly, saving time and improving efficiency. This is the same with other kinds of agriculture machines, check in time and repair in time.
